Responsibilities

•           SAN Administrator:  Design and implement SAN solutions, cabling and connecting servers to SAN, zone SAN switches, create and present LUNs to servers, design and configure disk data replication mechanisms, manage and monitor SAN performance and capacity, manage SAN hardware and software upgrades and break/fix activities, manage relationship with SAN vendor EMC, provide support for production SAN issues.

•           VMWare administrator:  Design and implement VMWare ESX based servers, create templates and clones for VMWare RedHat Linux and Windows operating systems, provision storage for each VMWare guest, configure resource pools, use VMotion to move virtual machines across physical servers, use Lab Manager 3.5 and 4.0 for virtual machine builds, manage relationship with VMWare, patch and upgrade VMWare environment, migrate physical servers to virtual environment, support production problems.

Requirements

•           Minimum Bachelor’s Degree required

•           Experience with the following hardware:  EMC Symmetrix, DMX1000, DMX2000, DMX3000, DMX3-xxx, VMax, Clariion CX700, CX3-xx, CX4-xxx, Celerra NS120, Cisco MDS 9509 director switch or similar SAN switches, Brocade 4900B, Brocade 7500 McData DS 24M2 SAN routers

•           Dell R,M series servers and blades, Dell M1000 blade chassis, Dell T series workstations

 Responsibilities

•       Provide systems administration support for RedHat based environments.  Design, support and troubleshoot RedHat cluster technologies.

•       Define and follow standards and best practices for server and operating system builds.

•       Work in a matrix support environment to provide 24X7 production support for RedHat Linux server environments.

•       Work with project teams to define and build server environments based on customer requirements.

•       Develop and write server and operating system design documents.

•       Develop new processes and technologies to automate operating system installations and builds (custom scripts, RedHat kickstarts).

•       Must be able to pack, unpack and assemble server components, run fiber and copper under floor cables, swap hardware components on malfunctioning servers.

•       Configure and install Dell blade servers, HP servers, iLO, DRAC.

•       Research, test and implement new hardware and software technologies.

 

Requirements

•       5+ years providing support for mission critical RedHat Linux environments.

•       Experience administering RedHat Enterprise 3.X, 4.X, 5.X servers running in a 24X7 environment.

•       In depth knowledge of TCP/IP and UDP protocols and LAN/WAN networking.

•       Experience with PXE, nfs, nis, shell scripting, proactive monitoring, patch management and end user support.

•       Experience with volume management using LVM utilizing both local and SAN/NAS disk storage.

•       Performance tuning and capacity planning.

•       Experience supporting corporate network based services such as DNS, NIS, NFS, SSH, autofs.

•       Experience supporting Oracle 10G and 11G database environments including RAC, ASM, OCFS, raw devices, network bonding, private interconnects.

•       Strong shell scripting skill in bash and ksh and PERL.

•       Strong oral and written communications skills. Must be able to write root cause analysis reports, project plans and architecture and design documents.

•       RHCE or equivalent experience.

•       Solid understanding of SANs, fiber switches and fabric, RAID and server backup/recovery processes and technology.

•       Experience designing, building and supporting application development environments.

New – Programmable Hardware Engineer

IQ Inc. has a need for a Programmable Hardware Engineer for a client near the downtown Pittsburgh area.

Requirements:

5 to 10 years of relevant experience in FPGA design development and verification, preferably in a safety critical environment.

  • The candidate should have experience in hardware description language (VHDL or Verilog, VHDL preferred), use of schematic entry tools.
  • Knowledge of hardware design using Altera and Xilinx environments for soft-core FPGA-based processors and FPGA design tools.
  • Mixed signal circuit design preferred. Working knowledge of C++ and embedded microprocessors desired but not required.
  • Strong Problem solving and debug skills a must, familiar with using LabVIEW for integration testing and verification.
  • Strong Documentation writing and review skills necessary.
  • Bachelor degree in a technical field required

Responsibilities

•          Focal point for process improvement involving IBM’s Rational Publishing Engine (RPE) tool as integrated with the IBM DOORS tool

•          Prototype RPE and DOORS publishing solutions for emerging company standards

•          Work closely with Technical Online Publishing (TOPS) representative to develop an RPE solution to publish company-approved formatting and styles

•          Develop, document and instruct specific workflow activities for DOORS and RPE users

•          Provide training, coaching and/or consultation on how to automate document generation using DOORS and RPE toolsets

•          Develop/modify MS Word components such as styles, templates and macros

•          Develop/modify any code native to the RPE & DOORS tool to enhance/promote the automation of documents from the DOORS/RPE toolsets

 Requirements

•          3-5 years experience

•          B.S. in Engineering or equivalent

•          MS Word 2003+ subject matter expert including expert knowledge of template and style usage

•          Visual Basic Application subject matter expert  (VBA)

•          IBM Rational Publishing Engine subject matter expert

•          IBM Rational DOORS Administrator subject matter expert including DOORS Extension Language (DXL) proficiency

•          Document publishing subject matter expert including best practices

•          Good Configuration and Change Management skills

•          Good workflow organization skills

 Pluses:
