We are looking for a Software Engineer to design, develop, test, and configure .NET web applications. The role requires a Software Engineer who is able to excel in teamwork, adaptability, problem analysis, critical thinking, planning, organizing, and initiative. The engineer will work in with an Agile development team to implement enterprise-level web based software applications. This person will participate in unit testing of developed code, diagnose and repair technical problems, resolve functional questions, and mentor other Software Engineers. Job requirements are as follows:

Required:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
One or more of the following:
- 2-5 years experience in database and stored procedure design
- 2-5 years experience with web-services, N-tier applications using current UI frameworks, and modern web application standards
- 3-5 years experience in software engineering
Ability to identify, diagnose, and repair problems within software applications
Experience working in an Agile environment
Interest and ability to quickly learn new technologies
Able to generate unique problem solving ideas

Preferred:

3-5 years experience with web-services, N-tier applications using current UI frameworks, and modern web application standards.
1-2 years experience working with MS Visual Studio
1-2 years experience in working in an agile environment, prefer knowledge of Scrum and XP practices

Franklin Regional Robotics

IQ Employee Jarrett Stewart has been helping the Franklin Regional Robotics team design and build a robot to compete in the Pittsburgh Regional FIRST FRC tournament! This is the second year the Franklin Regional Robotics team – Frobotics – participated in the competition, and the first year that Jarrett has volunteered as a mentor.

The students were tasked with creating a robot able to accurately shoot frisbees into goals set at varying heights, and lift itself off of the ground to climb a metal pyramid structure. They were given 68 days to complete the robot using materials provided to them and anything else they could get their hands on. Mentors taught students how to use LabVIEW, CAD, and other programming tools along with more physical building tools such as welding and metal cutting.

Team 4150 worked hard and played hard at the competition, and while they didn’t make it to the finals, each member of the team came away with a great experience, some new knowledge, and awesome robot-building experience.

V&V Software QA

We are in need of a V&V Software QA Engineer to be responsible for the development, execution, and reporting of software product test plans and detailed software test procedures on maintenance releases and new to market applications. Additionally, this individual will contribute to process improvement initiatives and supporting other software development projects. Key challenges of this position include development of innovative, effective, efficient and reusable test solutions in a fast paced dynamic learning environment. Additional details are as follows:

Responsibilities:

Work closely with software developers to focus on design for testability, reliability, and recoverability; provide directional guidance to software developers’ unit level testing; partner with software developers on integration level testing; and be responsible for software system level testing.
Develop, execute, and document software test plans, procedures, and reports that will demonstrate traceability to product requirements and satisfaction of user needs.
Select, develop, and apply various types of tests and analysis at both the API and GUI layers including: functional, performance, regression, certification, environmental load, stress, worst case, perfective, exploratory, and scenario testing and/or analysis.
Participate in code reviews and effectively communicate on technical topics to bring consensus on code design decisions and testing strategy decisions.
Participate in cross functional project meetings to report on test development progress and defect status, and to aid team in making software readiness decisions.
Assist team in determining required resource and timeline needs to successfully conduct needed software QA and V&V activities.
Aid software developers, service, marketing, and TAC groups in the troubleshooting of software defects.
Help to create and manage framework that will enable automated regression testing.
Help to manage and enhance the record keeping and reporting of software quality assurance metrics such as defect densities and open defect counts.

Position Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
Four or more years of software engineering experience.
Experience with development of high quality software in a regulated commercial environment required.
Working knowledge of software quality assurance methodologies.
Proven performance in both software development and software test roles, including experience with test automation tools and database test development.
Experience coding in ASP.Net, WCF, and/or C#.
Demonstrated ability to configure and troubleshoot small local area network Windows XP.
Familiarity with Windows firewall and Microsoft Remote Desktop.
Familiarity with configuration and requirement managements tools, i.e DOORS, MKS, ClearQuest, etc.
Proven high performance orientation, sound judgment, adaptability, and cross-functional collaboration/ teamwork skills.

Preferred Skills:

Familiarity with PACS, HIS/RIS, DICOM, and HL/7.
CSQE certification.
Experience using Agile Scrum methods to develop medical software systems.
Excellent verbal, writing, and listening skills.
