Next Generation Ocular Surgical Device

Situation: Multinational healthcare company required assistance with next generation ocular surgical device utilized by operating physicians.

Task: Develop User Interface and Business Layer to communicate directly with operating room medical device hardware while complying with all necessary FDA and regulatory guidelines.

Action: IQ engineered and delivered an interface which allows the surgeon to control and monitor surgical tools throughout the procedure. Application provided customization ability on a surgeon or procedural level. Utilized SCRUM Process, Client-Directed Quality plan to conform to FDA standards for surgical medical device.

Results: IQ team delivered high quality product, exceeding schedule expectations and expediting the FDA approval process.

Ventilation Data Visualizer for Respiratory Device

Situation: Provider of innovative solutions for global sleep and respiratory markets required assistance developing and integrating a new product into their existing product line.

Task: Design and develop a rich user interface to a life critical ventilator while complying with all necessary FDA and regulatory guidelines.

Action: IQ facilitated data acquisition from the medical device using flash-based memory cards to build wave-form view. Utilized Agile Development Methodology and Client-Directed Quality plan to conform to FDA standards for “Concern Level 3” medical device.

Results: IQ partnered closely with client subject matter experts to deliver new, critical functionality that allows the client to differentiate device from all market competition.

Data Collection Project for a Truck and Engine Manufacturer

Situation: Domestic truck and engine manufacturer required assistance designing, developing and implementing a data collection and scheduling distribution system to replace an existing application.

Task: Design, develop and implement a shop-floor data collection and schedule distribution system which will integrate all required functionality into one system with a common User Interface at the plant level.

Action: IQ designed and delivered the scheduling component to support future modifications and extensions to the system. The design contained features that assured fault tolerance and recovery from errors originating in the hardware or software components. Utilized Waterfall Methodology and an open source software architecture.

Result: IQ’s project team delivered the system to the client, which improved overall plant efficiency.

Transaction Warehouse Project for Banking Institution

Situation: Multi-state, bank holding company required assistance developing an interface and transaction modules for a core banking system within their network.

Task: Develop interface and data transaction modules to integrate multiple data sources into core banking system for nightly processing while complying with all financial guidelines and procedures.

Action: IQ worked with the client’s internal engineers to create an interface and data transaction modules to integrate multiple data sources into core banking system for nightly processing. Utilized Iterative Development Methodology, Client Acceptance Testing, and Nightly Regression Testing, complied with all financial regulations.

Result: IQ delivered a secure application which provided broad usability and eliminated dependence on outdated technology.
